Level designed for the game Portal 2, and part of the "MapCore Perpetual Testing Challenge" at MapCore.org, where the restraint was to design a test chamber using only the Puzzle Maker (PeTI, a simplified level editor), leaving the Hammer Editor aside. So, the map couldn't receive any props or textures.

Competurn was entirely designed and built on the same day as the simplified level editor got released. The following days were dedicated to polish and iterate the level, taking in consideration the constructive feedback provided by the considerable amount of playtesters in the level's Steam Workshop page (around 1,500 subscribing players).

I decided to create an environment that would converge the action of the level, so that various puzzles could be integrated into a fairly small space. Competurn offers multiple puzzles with a challenge that rewards the learning curve of the player: the same base mechanic is used at different times during the progression in the level, but with different purposes. Behind the Level: Competurn (article)

Responsibilities: Designed and built the entire level in the Puzzle Maker (Perpetual Testing Initiative, PeTI) for the duration of the challenge. Iterated the level based on solid playtesters' feedback.

A presentation communicating how the player moves and progress around this level.
